Wake up! Nature is not normal anymore

Global warming is a word that we come across commonly these days. This global warming is caused by the excess of Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and other pollutants which collect in the atmosphere, trap heat from the sun and cause the planet to warm. It also has adverse effects on weather patterns, human health, wildlife, sea levels and glaciers. But then the serious efforts that we put in, to save our earth are only minimal. Environment is suffering too much because of this global warming. The polar ice caps are shrinking day by day leading to increase in the water level. The temperatures in Arctic region are rising fast compared to elsewhere in the world. It is the biggest challenge that we face today. Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming. In spite that the drastic effects of this global warming been discussed among the scientific circles and there many TV shows that present to us the adverse effects of this, people do not take it up as a serious issue. The percentage depleting is also on the rise every year. But here are some simple steps that we as an individual could take up to contribute our part, to save our earth. Lowering the demand for the fossil fuels is the main aspect that reduces the amount of green house gases in the atmosphere. Using less air-conditioning, buying energy efficient products, saving electricity, replacing regular bulbs with CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs, alternating with renewable energy resources, planting a tree, are the different ways to lower the global warming. So Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle.
