★☆★☆★☆ The World didn't end today ★☆★☆★☆

Finally, the wait is over. Without fire rains and earthquakes! Most highly expected day has come to an end and Yes we made it through the day! It was most like a nail biting finish to a match. Mayans and Endofworld2012confessions unexpectedly trending twitter today. For all  the trolls and jokes which helped us to stay fun-filled all day ★Big Cheers★. The day started as just another one with nothing new. But there were comments pouring in from every other side that you turn regarding the end. We also had a countdown to the end of the from several sites. The thrill and tension which clouded on every mind accelerated as the day progressed. After the clock struck 11:11 UTC, which  was assumed to be the doomsday, the chaos and confusion soon subdued. Our scientists who had given 100% assurance that the world would not end take the credits this time. Its all over now, and its time, we  have to get back to work and carry on in the running towards the new year 2013 with eyes wide open to fulfill our desires.

Happy End of the World Day! ♥ 21/12/12 ♥

This is an EPIC picture that i came across  today...There has been thousands and thousands of people who don't believe that the world is  going to end.#Thankfully# despite of all the rumors that has been spread via internet. In many instances like this that has happened before, bringing this issue in parallel to  the 2001 end of world rumor, for some weird reason when the electronic gadgets didn't register the date. Basically people deny this only because of the fact that no one wants to die for whatever reason it may be. This is the phenomenon that keeps human life running , in-spite of all the suffering they undergo in their life. I would be very happy if this date 21/12/12  is declared as a end of the world day. Even though we are all pretty sure that nothing's going to happen for us, there is a little voice in everyone's head that says what if it happens which goes unanswered. The little tension that surrounds us when we think about it. This moment we will cherish our dreams. The lesson that this has  taught me is do anything you wish in this moment itself because once missed the moment, it cannot be re-captured. Every year this day we shall spend in memories of those instances that we won living our dreams.♥

Wattapad ♥

app

Wattapad is a android app, which basically is like a online story book and you can read lots and lots of stories of different people. I personally don't like to read novels, here in Wattapad there are a whole range of   stories.♥∞ I also think its the perfect way to share what you write to wider audience.  As this extends in a set of chapters so making it very easy to comprehend. The only thing which i think which if improved would be a lot better is having PC sync. These stories are made as a book which even runs for 50-100 chapters. Categories in which we would love to read the books can be selected.
Connect, collaborate and share interactive stories.

Glass winged butterfly!

I may be a little late in knowing that such a thing ever existed but then it was definitely an interesting one to know! This tiny little creature has translucent wings and is widely known to people as glasswinged butterfly. The spanish name of it is "espejitos" which actually means little mirrors. It also has opaque borders which is brown in the picture but sometimes it can be in green or even red it seems. One unique feature these butterflies exhibit is that they can travel a longer distance and do long migrations. Its just rare and unique.Love this tiny cute flutter-by!!

Is status update, a better way of communication?

Remembering the days when we used a pen and a paper to note things down rather than typing it down. Now the qwerty keyboard stands handy in place of it.The world has shrunken and within a click you can find things easily. The advancements in technology has changed the way we communicate. A status update, now a status symbol. Interesting to note the fact that we feel socially disconnected without having an account in Facebook,Twitter or Youtube. Addiction to these are on rise. Books to e-books,newspapers to e-paper, banking to e-banking, shopping to e-shopping,lots of others. These connects you to the world outside but we can't deny that it disconnects us from the neighborhood. cyber crime is also increasing day by day. Technology can grant us numerous vents but using them efficiently matters more. If used effectively it can make you reach heights."It's just a click away, but think before you click".

Have a read to this latest article on how technology plays a vital part in teen life.

Cyclone ‘Nilam’ sets the clock back

Cyclone ‘Nilam’ ravaged Tamilnadu within a day causing power shutdown for hours together, uprooting of trees and chaos across the state. Heavy winds made life quite miserable for commuters. Everyone was curious to know about what was happening around them. The only way out was Radio as there was no other mode to know the information. It provided current updates, alternate routes, rescue operation and other relevant details which lessened the worries of public as it reminded everyone about yester years of radio. Network and telecommunication failure also prevailed in some parts. The importance of technology development was felt by people. From dawn to dusk the power of nature has shown its supremacy.

what will happen if world turns into a cartoon! ♥

Yeah! you read it right..This maybe a simple and silly question to be answered. Just random thoughts put me to think about what will happen if I were a cartoon..Crazy! and  a bit funny too. Most cartoons have a fairy tale ending!.. Maybe good or bad i love cartoons.Thinking about a cartoon we can never forget a flower talking, dustbin walking or a postbox walking to your house to give your letters or even a car smiling. Every little things that we learnt watching those cartoons, be it morals or stories. They are very creative and fun and practical too. Their may not be any hardcore technology behind those cartoons, but it was fun.

Is laminating a rupee note illegal !!

I read an article on rediff and there was a question about how did you spend or save your first salary and what did u do with it..Quite interesting right!
There were different answers put up by people on the site. one interesting answer was i laminated the first hundred rupee note of my salary. In  a jiffy as i scrolled down there were many comments by people from various places saying it is illegal to laminate a rupee note. Confused by seeing all these, now i really have a doubt that is their anything which makes laminating rupee note illegal! The other answers under these topics were also really good as the viewers also mentioned how much was their first salary and how they spent their first ever salary...But i am still excited to know why it is illegal! :)

Publishing a journal for the first time!♥♥

As a part of my journal production lab, we were asked to create a journal for the first time. It can actually sound cool at first but the making process is no joke. Right to start from designing the layout till the printing process can consume a longer time gap than we think. For this we were asked to work in smaller groups so that each member needs to take up different tasks and complete it effectively. It took us about 2-3 weeks to bring out our journal. The taste of final outcome was more sweeter than the making process. Every word that is printed had to be checked carefully for mistakes. At last found out what tedious process that newspapers and magazines undergo but was definitely awesome! Didn't ever think studies would be this fun at times!

Wake up! Nature is not normal anymore

Global warming is a word that we come across commonly these days. This global warming is caused by the excess of Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and other pollutants which collect in the atmosphere, trap heat from the sun and cause the planet to warm. It also has adverse effects on weather patterns, human health, wildlife, sea levels and glaciers. But then the serious efforts that we put in, to save our earth are only minimal. Environment is suffering too much because of this global warming. The polar ice caps are shrinking day by day leading to increase in the water level. The temperatures in Arctic region are rising fast compared to elsewhere in the world. It is the biggest challenge that we face today. Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming. In spite that the drastic effects of this global warming been discussed among the scientific circles and there many TV shows that present to us the adverse effects of this, people do not take it up as a serious issue. The percentage depleting is also on the rise every year. But here are some simple steps that we as an individual could take up to contribute our part, to save our earth. Lowering the demand for the fossil fuels is the main aspect that reduces the amount of green house gases in the atmosphere. Using less air-conditioning, buying energy efficient products, saving electricity, replacing regular bulbs with CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs, alternating with renewable energy resources, planting a tree, are the different ways to lower the global warming. So Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle.

“It’s time to know it”

“Time and tide waits for none” is a famous quote which denotes that time is precious and every minute have to be spent with a use. But to know that time was not that easy in olden times.  The Egyptians were the first to create twenty-four hour day.  To know the time they used shadow clocks. The position of stars was used to designate the time at nights. But at the same time other countries like Babylonia, China, Greece were using instruments like sundials to note the time. Their existed a disadvantage in this too, as these sundials failed at night time. Amenophis I, the king of Egypt, wanted to know what time it was all through the night without having to check the position of the stars. So, Prince Amenemhet made the king a clepsydra or a water clock.  He took a big bucket of water, filled it with water up to a specific line.  He then cut a small hole in the bottom of the bucket and marked off lines on the bucket after each hour had passed. It was at this time the sand clock or the hourglass was introduced. But these also proved inefficient at times. To address all these issues faced in knowing time the first mechanical clock was created with weighs that would slowly lower for every hour. These clocks were needed to be placed in a tall building since the weights needed to travel a longer distance for every hour. Even today some of the cuckoo clocks are been made by using these weights. But, this is not portable and easy to use.  By that time, Galileo stunned the whole world with his innovative invention of pendulum clocks. This idea struck his mind when he was standing in the Cathedral of Pisa watching the huge chandelier swinging back and forth from the ceiling of the cathedral. After understanding the concept from the pendulum clocks the atomic clocks were invented. Since then time keeping has significantly changed. The digital clocks are a latest addition to this family of clocks.

Shopping!

Digitization is everywhere! We cant go wrong with online bill payments and shopping. It is very handy when you need to check your balance, or even when you want to shop. Even though we miss a slightest bit of happiness that we get when we can have a look and feel of the product that we are going to purchase, we can actually accumulate different opinions and user reviews when we purchase via online. Now there exists lots and lots of shops to buy from. It appears to be a little over dosage of goods that are widespread online. But the product purchased reaches you in no time. Some hiccups like security problems arise now and then with  online purchases. These even post limited offers and good deals to maintain a good customer relationship with those who buy from online. As the websites get updated regularly, and also a set of social networks actively working towards building up their customers and reaching to them in a jiffy rises a whole lot of purchases via online. Some shops are set ,which run solemnly through their websites and pages , get good amount of subscribers in limited time. The products are advertised and marketed at a high range with the help of these social networking sites. Lots of research process goes on here before the actual buying. Here we are very fortunate to be a user of these comforts, feel like a princess!

DIY ♥ #paperbeads

How fun is it to make something on your own and accessorize yourself. Anything that’s handmade is noteworthy. It's just rolling bits of colorful papers from magazines or newspapers and creating a beautiful accessory. What it takes, is just a toothpick, papers, glue and glitters to add some fairy dust. To do these bright, bold, fun accessories; make triangular strips of colorful papers and carefully roll it over the toothpick and glue at the end of it. And finally dust it with some glitters. A bead of your choice, color, and texture is now made. Just combine these beads with a twine or elastic and not it at the end. Your very own beaded bracelet is now ready. You can also make key chains, earrings, necklaces out of these. This is a perfect gift on any special days.  If you wish to give a complete look to your bead you can coat it with glaze or nail enamel. Simple and creative isn't it?!

clicks:)♥

Good clarity camera has become an essential feature in mobiles. One of my friends has an interesting habit of clicking pictures "all the time". At times even if i feel a bit weird about clicking pictures all the time, but then realized that those clicks were instant mood changers as time went. The cute memories always stay in those pictures. A pic that is just random, brings back great memories. No photography classes needed for this! Now i realize why they say,"pictures convey more emotions and the complete story than the penned words".

Bottom-line: Just go on clicking around:D♥

Busuu,language learning site....♥

Bonjour!Everyone likes to know something which others don't know.Standing out of the crowd, thinking out of box are the words that are easier said than done. Learning new language is always special out of those. knowing some language and communicating even the introductory words in that language feels good.on a summer vacation, when i was scrolling down some sites,i came across this website,"Busuu",where we can learn some languages. That's what i knew about it at first. But then when i googled it I got more of positive reviews about the site.So wanting to learn a alien language which is no joke,I selected french.Amazed with how easily i was able to learn the words,as this website thought from step 1 of learning a new language; I gained interest towards it.They use flashcards to teach the words. starting from getting to know the words, the series which you need to follow is dialogue questions, testing the words learnt, and writing. Not only that we get to chat with the native speakers of that language.Earning points for each correct answer that we give, gets learning the language addicting. It's like playing a game. A fun way to learn a new language. It's free for some extent. But we get to know more in this free version. Completing the A1 beginner course in this has gained me a great knowledge in french, which i think i would not have got without such a site.
Bottom line: A fun and creative site to learn a new language."Busuu"
Au revoir

“A little gem with high aim”

It was a cloudy Saturday afternoon, I was walking back home from my school. Reaching near the street where my house is located, I was able to hear the continuous horns of vehicles and in a jiffy the traffic surrounded the area and the clouds broke down with a hint of drizzle. So I took a halt at the pavement by the side of the road, talking to one of my neighbors, as she was explaining about the tour from which she returned a day back. As I was tired, I was not in a mood to listen to her long, unwinding story. Thankfully, a little voice broke off her story in the middle. It was a tiny boy, the son of the iron person. He came to her house to deliver the clothes. Perceiving from his looks, he might be just 6 years old, but his clarity of thoughts and his fast math skills made me wonder. My neighbor settled him the ironing cost. As she started back the story, my eyes followed the little boy. The traditional wooden cycle was just a few steps away. His mother was ironing some clothes. As I stood watching them, I could see the tender fingers working with the hot coal. The boy was helping his mother to burn the coal down. At last, I bid goodbye to my neighbor and walked towards the cycle. Before I could ever start my conversation with them, the little boy started talking to me like we knew each other before. I was so happy to know from his mother that he was studying in the nearby school. No wonder that he was a class topper. His mother is the bread winner for their family of two. The daily wages that they earn from ironing the clothes is insufficient to lead a complete life. The boy attends school in the morning and helps his mother in delivering the clothes to the customers in the evening.  His mother exclaims that even though it is hard for her at times to get work done from her son, there is no other go. He aims to become an engineer when he grows up. His little dream not only ends here. The little boy with spark in his eye, innocence in his talk said I want to help the people who are needy. “I will grow big, become an engineer and help others” in his words. His little words of wisdom changed the way I approach my life.   Everyone expects to lead a life that is perfect, simple and peaceful. But life is not that easy always. We have to accept the challenges, face the obstacles and hurdles that cross by, and finally live a life that is worthy. As the cloud started clearing so as the confusions in my mind, I reached my house

GoOgLe (#DoOdLeS#)

In this technologically advanced age that we live in, “Google” is a word that even a child knows. A well known search engine which is being updated every single second. When you search in something thousands of search results pop up. Google Doodles follow an imaginative and innovative way to impart knowledge. A special day is been displayed creatively, with bright colors, attracting the attention of many. Recently they came up with the new flash doodles which are nothing but
the interactive doodles. Doodles like, for the 78th birthday of Robert Moog they came out with an interactive musical keyboard design.  The first doodle was on May 21, 2010, the 30th anniversary of the arcade game Pac-Man, Google unveiled worldwide their first interactive logo, created in association with Namco. Anyone who visited Google could play Pac-Man on the logo, which featured the letters of the word 'Google' on the Pac-Man maze. The logo also mimicked the sounds the original arcade game made. The "I'm Feeling Lucky" button was replaced with an "Insert Coin" button. Pressing this once enabled you to play the Pac-Man logo. Some of the other interactive doodles that stay in our minds till now are the series of doodles they created for the Olympics 2012. For every game in Olympics there was a unique doodle displayed at the Google page during the day of that particular game. Looking forward to more unique designs by google in their future DoOdLeS!
