Wake up! Nature is not normal anymore

Global warming is a word that we come across commonly these days. This global warming is caused by the excess of Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and other pollutants which collect in the atmosphere, trap heat from the sun and cause the planet to warm. It also has adverse effects on weather patterns, human health, wildlife, sea levels and glaciers. But then the serious efforts that we put in, to save our earth are only minimal. Environment is suffering too much because of this global warming. The polar ice caps are shrinking day by day leading to increase in the water level. The temperatures in Arctic region are rising fast compared to elsewhere in the world. It is the biggest challenge that we face today. Burning fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, oil and gasoline raises the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which is a major contributor to the greenhouse effect and global warming. In spite that the drastic effects of this global warming been discussed among the scientific circles and there many TV shows that present to us the adverse effects of this, people do not take it up as a serious issue. The percentage depleting is also on the rise every year. But here are some simple steps that we as an individual could take up to contribute our part, to save our earth. Lowering the demand for the fossil fuels is the main aspect that reduces the amount of green house gases in the atmosphere. Using less air-conditioning, buying energy efficient products, saving electricity, replacing regular bulbs with CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs, alternating with renewable energy resources, planting a tree, are the different ways to lower the global warming. So Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle.

“It’s time to know it”

“Time and tide waits for none” is a famous quote which denotes that time is precious and every minute have to be spent with a use. But to know that time was not that easy in olden times.  The Egyptians were the first to create twenty-four hour day.  To know the time they used shadow clocks. The position of stars was used to designate the time at nights. But at the same time other countries like Babylonia, China, Greece were using instruments like sundials to note the time. Their existed a disadvantage in this too, as these sundials failed at night time. Amenophis I, the king of Egypt, wanted to know what time it was all through the night without having to check the position of the stars. So, Prince Amenemhet made the king a clepsydra or a water clock.  He took a big bucket of water, filled it with water up to a specific line.  He then cut a small hole in the bottom of the bucket and marked off lines on the bucket after each hour had passed. It was at this time the sand clock or the hourglass was introduced. But these also proved inefficient at times. To address all these issues faced in knowing time the first mechanical clock was created with weighs that would slowly lower for every hour. These clocks were needed to be placed in a tall building since the weights needed to travel a longer distance for every hour. Even today some of the cuckoo clocks are been made by using these weights. But, this is not portable and easy to use.  By that time, Galileo stunned the whole world with his innovative invention of pendulum clocks. This idea struck his mind when he was standing in the Cathedral of Pisa watching the huge chandelier swinging back and forth from the ceiling of the cathedral. After understanding the concept from the pendulum clocks the atomic clocks were invented. Since then time keeping has significantly changed. The digital clocks are a latest addition to this family of clocks.

DIY ♥ #paperbeads

How fun is it to make something on your own and accessorize yourself. Anything that’s handmade is noteworthy. It's just rolling bits of colorful papers from magazines or newspapers and creating a beautiful accessory. What it takes, is just a toothpick, papers, glue and glitters to add some fairy dust. To do these bright, bold, fun accessories; make triangular strips of colorful papers and carefully roll it over the toothpick and glue at the end of it. And finally dust it with some glitters. A bead of your choice, color, and texture is now made. Just combine these beads with a twine or elastic and not it at the end. Your very own beaded bracelet is now ready. You can also make key chains, earrings, necklaces out of these. This is a perfect gift on any special days.  If you wish to give a complete look to your bead you can coat it with glaze or nail enamel. Simple and creative isn't it?!

clicks:)♥

Good clarity camera has become an essential feature in mobiles. One of my friends has an interesting habit of clicking pictures "all the time". At times even if i feel a bit weird about clicking pictures all the time, but then realized that those clicks were instant mood changers as time went. The cute memories always stay in those pictures. A pic that is just random, brings back great memories. No photography classes needed for this! Now i realize why they say,"pictures convey more emotions and the complete story than the penned words".

Bottom-line: Just go on clicking around:D♥

Busuu,language learning site....♥

Bonjour!Everyone likes to know something which others don't know.Standing out of the crowd, thinking out of box are the words that are easier said than done. Learning new language is always special out of those. knowing some language and communicating even the introductory words in that language feels good.on a summer vacation, when i was scrolling down some sites,i came across this website,"Busuu",where we can learn some languages. That's what i knew about it at first. But then when i googled it I got more of positive reviews about the site.So wanting to learn a alien language which is no joke,I selected french.Amazed with how easily i was able to learn the words,as this website thought from step 1 of learning a new language; I gained interest towards it.They use flashcards to teach the words. starting from getting to know the words, the series which you need to follow is dialogue questions, testing the words learnt, and writing. Not only that we get to chat with the native speakers of that language.Earning points for each correct answer that we give, gets learning the language addicting. It's like playing a game. A fun way to learn a new language. It's free for some extent. But we get to know more in this free version. Completing the A1 beginner course in this has gained me a great knowledge in french, which i think i would not have got without such a site.
Bottom line: A fun and creative site to learn a new language."Busuu"
Au revoir

“A little gem with high aim”

It was a cloudy Saturday afternoon, I was walking back home from my school. Reaching near the street where my house is located, I was able to hear the continuous horns of vehicles and in a jiffy the traffic surrounded the area and the clouds broke down with a hint of drizzle. So I took a halt at the pavement by the side of the road, talking to one of my neighbors, as she was explaining about the tour from which she returned a day back. As I was tired, I was not in a mood to listen to her long, unwinding story. Thankfully, a little voice broke off her story in the middle. It was a tiny boy, the son of the iron person. He came to her house to deliver the clothes. Perceiving from his looks, he might be just 6 years old, but his clarity of thoughts and his fast math skills made me wonder. My neighbor settled him the ironing cost. As she started back the story, my eyes followed the little boy. The traditional wooden cycle was just a few steps away. His mother was ironing some clothes. As I stood watching them, I could see the tender fingers working with the hot coal. The boy was helping his mother to burn the coal down. At last, I bid goodbye to my neighbor and walked towards the cycle. Before I could ever start my conversation with them, the little boy started talking to me like we knew each other before. I was so happy to know from his mother that he was studying in the nearby school. No wonder that he was a class topper. His mother is the bread winner for their family of two. The daily wages that they earn from ironing the clothes is insufficient to lead a complete life. The boy attends school in the morning and helps his mother in delivering the clothes to the customers in the evening.  His mother exclaims that even though it is hard for her at times to get work done from her son, there is no other go. He aims to become an engineer when he grows up. His little dream not only ends here. The little boy with spark in his eye, innocence in his talk said I want to help the people who are needy. “I will grow big, become an engineer and help others” in his words. His little words of wisdom changed the way I approach my life.   Everyone expects to lead a life that is perfect, simple and peaceful. But life is not that easy always. We have to accept the challenges, face the obstacles and hurdles that cross by, and finally live a life that is worthy. As the cloud started clearing so as the confusions in my mind, I reached my house
